Modern Abolition

A lot of ignorant people think that slavery is a thing of the past, a shadow that is no more.

But it is not, and today there are millions of mostly women and children daily being sold into slavery.

In the last few years more than ever the few educated ones have been working very hard to educated the rest of the world about this great evil. They are becoming the voice for those in bondage, and the shining knights in armor to defend the defenseless.

Please read this articles and pray for those in slavery every day. If each and everyone of us as Christians begin to pray and get the word out we can start helping a movement to break off the chains. Also, please share this with anyone else you know, it is a serious problem, one that cannot be ignored.

Now is the time to move, we are the hands, the feet, and mouth of Christ.

Psalm 68:5-6

"A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation, God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity..."

  1. I totally agree with praying about this, Grace! I feel like all of these people are saying "DO SOMETHING!!!" and I'm thinking, do WHAT? what can I do to fix this? And I think you're right; The first step is prayer. The second step is whatever God says to you while you're praying about this.. like, maybe your tithe needs to go to one of these organizations (or maybe a little more than your tithe), maybe you need to fix a wrong idea in your head, maybe you need to speak out, but whatever it is, it starts with you coming to God about it, because if we get this "righteous" idea in our head that out of our goodness we need to save these people we need to "fix" this world, we've missed the point. No one can fix this world besides Jesus, and there will ALWAYS be sin, so the most important thing is your relationship with Christ and following Him, and worshiping Him, and OBEYING Him, and the the world will get fixed through that.

I liked the balance beam thing, that was really funny and sadly true. This has been encouraging Grace, but whenever I think of the sickness of the world I am reminded of the cure, which is NOT good Christians, good men, or even good people doing good things, but Christ: a real, lasting relationship with Christ. I praise the Lord that nothing can separate me from the love of Christ, not trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword; neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present or the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth nor anything else in all creation. AMEN!
