Grace- Season's Changing

Howdy! Guess what? It is almost September!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, I haven't used that many exclamation points in a long time. But as my friends will tell you, I get really giddy in September. It is my favorite month of the year. It is my birthday month, the month where I start orchestra, school, and I am the most poetic.

Plus there is the sky. Tee hee, yes, if you have been following this blog since it's existence a year ago you will have seen that the first post ever written was written by me called, "September Blue Skies".

I like to study the skies through the eyes of an artist. I love sky, when I was younger I used to love a ton of trees and woods, I wasn't too impressed with open spaces. But now?

Maybe I just got enough of trees in South Carolina where my family lived for 9 months. All there were was trees, trees, and more trees. Oh yeah, there was the ocean too. But I missed the sky SO much! I missed prairie, I missed wide open spaces.

Now it's like I can't get enough of wide fields and rolling hills, and open sky. There is something freeing about being out in the open. Something freeing about the open sky, yes, I have dreams of flying.

What kind of landscape do you like? What is your favorite month and why? Just some season changing thoughts we could share.

Grace- The Atheist and the Little Girl

I got this in an email from my grandma. This is obviously not a true story, but was written by someone who is a lot older than a little girl. It makes a fair point.

LITTLE GIRL ON A PLANE

An atheist was seated next to a little girl on an airplane and he turned to her and said,

"Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger."

The little girl, who had just started to read her book, replied to the total stranger,
"What would you want to talk about?"

"Oh, I don't know," said the atheist.

"How about why there is no GOD, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death?" as he smiled smugly.

"OK," she said. "Those could be interesting topics but let me ask you a question first.

A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets,

while a cow turns out a flat patty , but a horse produces clumps . Why do you suppose that is?"

The atheist, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thinks about it and says,
"Hmmm, I have no idea."

To which the little girl replies, "Do you really feel qualified to discuss why there is no GOD,

or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death, when you don't know poop?

And then she went back to reading her book.

Weird Facts, Celina

(I decided that on Thursdays I will Weird Facts and on Tuesdays I will do "Random I wonders")

If a native Hawaiian woman places the flower on her right ear, she is available. (The bigger the flower, the more desperate!)
Please Marry me!!!!! don't you see the flower????

Twenty nine percent of women spend more time shopping for shoes than they do looking for a life long mate.

The roar that we hear when we place a seashell next to our ear is not the ocean, but rather the sound of blood surging through the veins in the ear.

Caffeine boosts memory.

must....have..... caffeine!!!!!!!

Donkeys kill more people annually than plane crashes.

Grace- Creating a Space

This is a decorating blog that I like to read online. It is helpful, entertaining, and SO COOL!

This lady recently redid her porch for the summer, and it looks just fabulous. She lives in the NW where it rains a lot, but she still managed to make her porch look like a tropical resort.

What if we did that in our bedrooms? Or our backyard somewhere? I know that I love having a place to retreat to with a book or my crocheting. Try it out! And switch the decor for every season, there's nothing like variety!

Lydia, notebook

Hi!
I thought I would post this craft idea I had. All I did was take some candy wrappers I had been using as bookmarks and glue them onto this notebook. I also added the yellow ribbon to complete the design!
The first picture is before I decorated and the second picture is after I decorated. It was fun to do and didn't take a long time. Well I just thought I would share it with you all.

Lovin' the rain!

Grace- Prayer For Famine in Africa

Attention gals, down in Southern Africa the worst drought in 60 years is in progress. There is the potential for 10 million people to starve to death.

Supplies are being sent in but many of the trucks are being hijacked by terrorist groups. We need to join together in prayer to fight against the Enemy. Please make this a regular part of your prayers and share it with your friends and church family. Our prayers joined together do matter.
