Celina, I am Back!!!!!!!

Whoop I am done being grounded!!! So I have soooooo much to tell you girls!! but first things first, I would REALLY appreciate if you girls would put your name in front of the tittle of your post that way people can tell BEFORE they read it who is writing I have been going behind you guys and putting it in for you I was hopping that you would catch on but only Lydia caught on so thanks Lydia! Also I changed the background color for behind the post, because it makes it MUCH easier to see. Now for the fun stuff!
Well while I was grounded I went on vacation to Florida for two weeks! I had soooooooooooo much fun. I was blessed to have one of my BEST Friends Olivia with me for one of the weeks, having her there was totally a BLAST. While her family was there we got to go go-carting when our daddies went deep sea fishing. On the week that her family was gone we got to go parasailing, talk about a FUUUN time!!!! I got to hang out with my family, Make a Giant Frog out of sand, body surf, watch ALOT of HGTV (those home decorating shows are addicting!), hang out with a so cool friend and last but not least :) I got to make Olivia look SOOOO creepy with black lipstick and a hair straightener.
I am glad to be back and I hope that we will all be able to grow in Christ and Friendship as we honor and praise the Lord, oh I know this is wierd but I am kinda exited we have a follower that is not one of the orignal group!!!!! lets hear it for LILY! (I hope I don't scare her off the poor girl is like "all I wanted to do was quittly read this blog and this girl jumps on me!")

Grace, Lysbeth

I LOVE TO READ! I mean, LOVE to read. I hated learning it at first, but once I got the basics down, I started climbing and haven't leveled off yet!

So I often get books for my birthday. I have a writer that I really like. His name is Sir Rider Haggard. Yes, another English author. For those of you who know me, my favorite books are written mostly by English authors.

Anyway, Sir Haggard writes these incredible history novels. You may have heard of one of his books, "King Solomon's Mines". I have all of these. Then the others are "Pearl Maiden" a tale of the fall of Jerusalem to Titus. "The Brethren" a tale of brothers in love with the same maid in the time of the 2nd Crusade. And "Lysbeth", a tale of the Dutch!

This is the one that I recently read. It is a story placed during the time when the Dutch Protestants were in a bloody struggle for survival during the occupation by the Spaniards.

Many may not realize fully what happened during that time. Basically King Phillip of Spain signed the death warrant for 3 million Dutch people!
Any Protestants that the Inquisition, the human monsters could find, especially rich ones, were tortured, burned at the stake, starved, and many other terrible things. They harmed men, women, children, anyone!

But the amazing spirit of the Dutch continued to hold on! Led by William the Silent, one of the most kind and wise men in the world, they stood firm. Many cities were taken after months of terrible fighting and starvation. Then the Spaniards would enter, and massacre the inhabitants.

In desperation, many Dutch began to cut the great dykes that held the sea back from their shores. They said,

"We will let our land be overrun by the sea before we let the Spaniards have it!"

William's brothers were killed in a battle with the Spanish, and later on the poor man was murdered himself.

But still the Dutch held on, contesting every foot of ground, fighting and dying like madmen for their freedom and faith!

In the end, God blessed their faithfulness and the Spanish were defeated in a terrible sea battle with the Dutch and English, who were also strong Protestants.

The story of the Dutch, the story of faith, the story of courage. It is a story that is one of the most heartbreaking and stirring out of the many stories of history!

This book, "Lysbeth", is the story of a young girl, and then later on woman, living in these turbulent times.
The arch villian is Count Juan de Montalvo, alias Ramiro. And believe me, you will be grinding your teeth at him by the end!

I won't tell you much, except for there is romance, tears, laughter, emotion, and a message. I strongly urge you to read this book, and study this period of history that shows yet again the struggle for freedom by God's people!

Here's a link to a site where they sell it. And you can type in "Sir Rider Haggard" to the search box, to see his other books.

Lydia, What do you think?

Ok, well I guess it is time for me to pass the baton to Olivia...I have never seen her on though, so do you think I should skip her? Because if I put her on Adm. will she get on to pass it to the next person? Let me know what you think...

Lydia, Happenings

Well, I think I will do what Jessica did and tell you all what I am going to do recently...
I have a research project I have to do on Rahab by Wednesday...and I have not started on it yet...so maybe you could pray for me about that :). I get to go on a trail ride with one of my friends and my sister, that should be fun, but I am a little nervous. I think there is a bible study I am going to with my mom and sister. This week at Orchestra I find out what chair I get, I am really anxious about that. We might get to go camping soon. Lets see...Oh yes Celina and I just finished our play we have been working on... Hooray! It is going to be so fun. I think that is about it. Well hope you all are having a good fall!

Jessica, Hey Girls!

I guess because I was administrator for a little while it got me to thinking that I couldn't post something! Well..I don't know what I am going to post but....It'll be somethin'!! If that makes any sense... So anyways..Here I go!!
On Tuesdays, I've been going to a women's bible study, well, I don't go to the study, I'm down stairs with a college girl babysitting for two hours! It's alot of fun!!!!! But, sadly, I found out last week that she is getting MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And next October she and her husband will move to NORTH DAKOTA!!!!!!!!!! So. I. am. sad.
Flute lessons are going really REALLY good!! I've figured out how to play Ode to Joy! (I absolutely love that song!)
P.E. is going well! We are into our 6th week and also into soccer! I don't like soccer just to let you know...
Then by the end of the day, I AM POOPED!

4-H is starting with a huge (and when I say huge, I mean HUGE!) All in two weeks, we have over 8 activities!!!! But, at least I'll be able to sleep well at nights!
Next Sat-Sun. is our annual Old Iron Works celebration. I know that Celina has been there before so she can tell you lots!! It is basically an old time fest where people dress up and can walk around and see different booths and watch people do stuff they did in the olden days. I really enjoy it! My Uncle Sam runs a cross-cut saw booth so we all go and help and spend the days there. I am REALLY excited!!
Then, that Friday is a "Granddaughter's Night Out" hosted by my grandmother!! She is inviting all her granddaughters to come to her house for a sleepover!! I can tell it'll be alot of fun and alot of GIGGLING!!
Well. I think I just described my next two weeks! I hope I make it!
Adios and Bon voyage!

Grace, October

October, October, from whence didest thou come?

Like and arrow from a bow, or a wind from a storm,

You hath appeared again, when it seems but yesterday that my first memory was born.

October, October, from whence did you arise?

From the valleys below, or from the hills where I lift mine eyes?

You have crept upon me tenderly, but with the cunning of a devilish spy!

I was only awakening from a long summer's sleep, and my dreams had been hot and deep.

It was only August, then September,

But where you came into the picture is hard to remember!

October, October, from whence did you hasten? I must get a hold of the days, for my time is a wastin'!
