Grace- Branson Bliss/Day 2

This is actually day two of my Branson vacation, but why in the world would someone take the time to blog on the 1st day of vacation? Absolutely crazy!

I will fill you in on what happened though. We didn't end up leaving the house until around 2:30, but that's fine. When I was younger I used to be super overly freaked out about leaving the house on time, but since I have grown wiser, and now I take things more in stride.

We had a lovely drive in the afternoon sunshine, the Ozark hills were looking their absolute best and most beautiful. We drove directly past the tornado devastation, pretty horrible stuff, I am glad it wasn't worse.

We arrived at our lovely condo and rode up the elevator (the extremely tight, claustrophobic elevator) to the 4th floor. The layout is lovely, and I am considering kidnapping the furniture and bringing it home with me. I am not thrilled about the colors, but the comfort level is lovely.

The 1st evening we just spent getting settled in and watching cable. DISNEY CHANNEL! ;) We also watched the food network. Later after dinner we went out for an evening drive around Branson. All was lovely until I looked to my right and saw a spider about the size of a quarter sitting next to me on the window.

But did I scream a bloodcurdling scream and give myself up for dead? No, this future Amazon and South American continent trekking young woman (hopefully) calmly grabbed a tissue and swiped the spider right up. Voila!

This morning I am sitting on the couch enjoying my purple toenails and looking forward to a few hours at Silver Dollar City, WORLDFEST HERE I COME!

I miss you all! XOXO

Lydia, Poem

This is a great poem that I read in my Themes in Literature book.  My mom and I always crack up at the end of the poem. I really like the poem because it is so true!

Of the Vanity of Earthly Greatness

The tusks that clashed in mighty brawls
Of mastodons, are billiard balls.

The sword of Charlemagne the Just
Is ferric oxide, known as rust.

The grizzly bear whose potent hug
Was feared by all, is now a rug.

Great Caesars dead and on the shelf,
And I don’t feel so well myself.

Lydia, Beautiful Clouds!

I just love clouds! They are one of my favorite of God's creations. These are some pictures I took. Enjoy!

Modern Abolition

A lot of ignorant people think that slavery is a thing of the past, a shadow that is no more.

But it is not, and today there are millions of mostly women and children daily being sold into slavery.

In the last few years more than ever the few educated ones have been working very hard to educated the rest of the world about this great evil. They are becoming the voice for those in bondage, and the shining knights in armor to defend the defenseless.

Please read this articles and pray for those in slavery every day. If each and everyone of us as Christians begin to pray and get the word out we can start helping a movement to break off the chains. Also, please share this with anyone else you know, it is a serious problem, one that cannot be ignored.

Now is the time to move, we are the hands, the feet, and mouth of Christ.

Psalm 68:5-6

"A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation, God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity..."

A Funny Story

WARNING: This Story is Based Off of an Actual Occurrence. If it Seems Inappropriate, or Just Plain Hilarious, Please Post Your Comments Below. Thank You. (All Names Change)

I was lying on the couch, trying not to cry as I turned one of the last pages at an excruciating, sorrow-filled moment in the story. My chin rested in both of my hands; my feet were kicked up in the air. My eyebrows thickened above my eyes as I read from the thick book leaning against the arm of the couch chair; I moaned.

"What's Wrong?" I guess I had alarmed my father, he was sitting at his desk a few feet from me.

"My books about to DIE." I sniffed, "It only has a few pages left!"

I sat up as the story took a dangerous turn, "What about the third egg?!" I shouted at the non-responsive book I now held in my hands. Snuggling back into a comfortable position I sat back against the arm of the couch, tucking my feet below me. I gasped at an unexpected turn of events and turned another page. To my horror the other side was blank, all except a few words stating:

To Be Continued and Concluded,
In the Fourth Book.

I slammed the book shut and jumped up, thinking quickly, "Who do I know who has the fourth book?" I walked out of the room to search for the phone, "Jala bought it, but I know she doesn't have it right now; besides I would have too wait a long time for it," I picked up my phone and started searching through my contacts. "Oh!"
I shouted, "Paul! Paul has the fourth book!!" I laughed and quickly found his house number. I paused, thinking how awkward this was going to be, calling a boy. I had never called a boy before, except my brothers of course. I shrugged and pressed CALL.

"Hello?"

It was his mother, "Um, hello, can I talk to Paul?" I said awkwardly.

"Sure! One moment,"
She paused for a moment and I faintly heard, "Paul, It's a girl."

Now I know it's wrong to eavesdrop but, come on! This was already quite awkward, and I wasn't about to not listen to his reaction.

Silence, then finally I voice that must of been his younger brother said, "Really?" I tried not to laugh. No one answered him. I heard the sound of some one taking the phone and I waited. And waited. Finally Paul said,
"Hello," slowly.

"Oh hi, Paul, this is Rose," I waited for a reply,

There was a pause,
"Hello."

"Well, my birthday's coming up, and, well I just finished a book. And I know you bought the fourth one. And I was wondering, do you still have it?" I didn't waste time, nor did I really make sense, but he knew what book I was talking about.

"Sorry, I gave it to someone about a month ago and they haven't returned it,"

"Really, a month? Wow, slow reader!" I said smiling.

There was yet another awkward pause. "Kind of... I would give it to you if I had it," As if that would soothe my ever-growing desire to read the fourth book...

"I know, thanks anyway! Bye!" Click.

And that is the story of the first time I called a boy.

To all who read this, it's probably not as funny as I thought it was, and this is not exactly how it went, not word for word. except for the "really?" hahaha!

Jessica~Hi LONG lost friends!!!! :D

Hey gals!
I'm so sorry that it has been such a terribly long time since I was last on here! I've neglected this and my blog as well! There is SO much to catch up on, that I don't even know where to begin!
Our Christmas was so amazing. The older I get, the more it thrills me to be able to be with my family over Christmas and new years. My oldest brother's amazing girlfriend was able to come down for a while and even over to my grandparents the day after Christmas and enjoy the day with us! We got to spend yet another year with both my great-grandpa from my moms side, and my great grandparents from my dads! I don't know too many teens who get have a Christmas like that :)
On New Years, we spent the evening (and well in to the new years) at my aunt and uncles, playing games and sharing many good laughs.....MANY. Just a few days after the new years, I thought of a wonderful verse that applies so greatly to the beginning to a new year. You hear all around everyone talking about their "new years resolution", whether it be a different diet, a new attitude to your family and on the list goes... but this verse that I found is so appropriate that I had to share it with you all.

1There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
2a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
6a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

I just love this verse. It reminds me that even though all these seasons in our life are going to come and leave, God is still watching out for us and is still in control!

Okay, back to my life :)
Since the new years, we have been pretty settled down. School started back up and all of our other activities as well, and our usual routine has finally come back!
Yesterday, I finally got my hair cut! It was sorta a quick thing and before I new it, there was a new me!! I am so excited!! :D

Well, that's it for now :)
Have a great week!

Celina, Babysitting

So I have posted a bit on my blog but I am going to repost hear, if you have any comments could you please leave them on both places or just on my blog :)

So yesterday I babysat the H. kids all day. I just wanted to share some of the things that happened today :).
#1 I was getting the kids breakfast I was asking Clara if she wanted a "Clara sized orange" (one of those "cutie" things) or a big one. She looked at me and kinda tilted her head and said "well, I think today I am going to have a Sam size orange" :)
#2 I had Hazel on the floor in the living room, in her Bumbo thing, feeding her lunch while the other kids watched a movie. A couple of times I had to get up and get something out of the kitchen. Every time I walked back into the living room she would just grin and start giggling at me. It was pretty cute. :)

#3 The whole time we were watching the movie Clara was dressing up so every five minutes or so she would come trotting into the living room with nothing on but her undies saying "tan you help me?"

#4 Me and Sam had a big fight about books during nap time. I told him that he could look at three books during nap time of course he started crying and saying that he wanted four books. I told him no and every time he argued I would take a book away. He kept arguing and got down to one book when I just put him in bed and told him that he only got one book. I left his room and he started SCREAMING. I let him holler for a few minutes then I went in there to try to get him to stop screaming, I would have just let him scream it out but Clara and Hazel were trying to sleep. So I got him calmed down a little and I read him his book. He was pretty calm by the time that I finished the book. I put him back to bed and he started to cry again. I asked him what was wrong "I want thhhhrrrreee books!!" he sobbed. ARRRGGG I left the room and let him scream for I little longer hoping that he would fall asleep, no such luck. Before he left Mr. Aaron said that if I had any problems to call him, I don't really like to call him while he is working but this boy had been screaming for 40 minutes! So I went into Sam's room and told him that if he did not stop crying in 3 minutes I would call his dad and have him talk to Sam. WOW you be AMAZED how quickly that boy quieted down :). Ahhhh, the power of daddy. :)

#5 After I got Sam quieted down I went to check on Rebekah, she had to play quietly in her room then she could come out so we could play together. When I went in to check on her she was sitting leaned up against the wall with this little black, pink, and lace leotard on, reading a book, and singing along with her new CD. A girl after my own heart (the reading and singing part, not really her choice of clothing :) )

Thanks for reading!
