Grace- Weather Wars

If you have been reading this blog, then you will have read the blog post, "Seasonal Wars". Yes, I was sticking up for the underdog of all seasons, winter.

Now I must stick up for rain. Everyone is so deeply in love with sunshine, and they always dread rain. Don't get me wrong, I like sunshine too. But some people overrate it. This is an argument a friend and I about rain.

Jessica-

Dear Rain,
I know, I know, it's Spring and this is your time to come, but honestly I am very mad. It is almost JUNE! I'd really appreciated it if you sent down your friend Warmth & Sunshine. She's my favorite.
Sincerely,
Jessica
Lydia Burnett - I must agree with you although I do love rain sometimes.5/19
Grace Gidman - Dear Jessica,

Though sometimes I lightening and thunder
My being here was no blunder
God created me to be His watering can
I am only following through with His plan

There is purpose in my drenching sheets
It is to make the world fresh and clean
To water the flowers, trees, and gardens
Your pleas for sunshine I do not pardon

My friend Warmth and Sunshine is a very cheery girl
But she dries things up, I fill your well
All the clean and beautiful water that you drink and bathe in
That was me, that was my creation

There are places in this world, take Africa for example
That are dry and hot, their water is not ample
Their little children have dry lips, and no water to sip

Be thankful that I visit you as often as I do
Without me your life would vastly change
Your skies would be dull and brown, not a happy blue
I make the grass green, I make lush the range

I am here at the Big Man's Command
I am following my Generals order
I cannot listen to your demands.

Dripping with good wishes,
Rain
Jessica Aaron - Thanks Grace. That helped :D

Jessica~I Know That My Redeemer Lives!

I know that my Redeemer lives
Glory Hallelujah!
What comfort this sweet sentence gives
Glory Hallelujah!

Chorus:
Shout on! Pray on! We're gaining ground!
Glory Hallelujah!
The dead's alive, the lost is found,
Glory Hallelujah!

He lives, he lives who once was dead,
Glory Hallelujah!
He lives, my everlasting head,
Glory Hallelujah!

Chorus

He lives, all glory to his name!
Glory Hallelujah!
He lives my Jesus, still the same,
Glory Hallelujah!

This is an old song from the early nineteen hundreds. It was originally a song sung by African Americans. It's solemn tune and inspiring melody brings me to tears every time I hear it.

These are the things that comes to my mind when I read these verses.

I imagine slaves, being worked to the bone. Mistreated, suffering, ill and tortured. No mercy comes no matter what. They plead for grace, yet are ruthlessly punished. Torn from their family, one thing gives them hope. This sweet sentence that fills their head: "I KNOW that my Redeemer lives!"

I imagine a small child who's parents are taken, or maybe even killed. Crying and sold, he remembers the lullaby his mother sang. "I KNOW that my Redeemer lives! GLORY Hallelujah!"

I imagine a young girl, longing for her new husband, yet knows that he will never return. One thing gives her life. "I KNOW that my Redeemer lives!"

I imagine rumors of freedom as their hearts cry out: Shout on! Pray on! We're gaining ground!

And then those, who witnessed the long wanted, long prayed and cried for, freedom. And in a triumphant cry they sang with joy: "The dead's alive and the lost is found! GLORY HALLELUJAH!!"

If you've never heard this song and have the time, please look it up, listen to the words of those from the past and thank our Saviour that we can live in a place where we are free. Glory Hallelujah!

Grace- Creativity

Boy, my mom is awesome. She is so creative. Lately mom has found a bunch of those, "Decorate on a dime" blogs by a bunch of moms like herself. Now she is inspired and ready to do it herself!

And believe me, she has. Recently our town had its citywide garage sale. Ooh! Garage sales! That word makes my nostrils flair and my spine tingle. I LOVE garage sales.

Mom and Dad came across some incredible deals on lamps, furniture, dishes, and decor. So now mom is just giving them a "Stacey" makeover, and viola! You have a designer display.

For example. We have been doing a ton of room switching, spring cleaning, and decorating. I never knew that one household could contain this much dust, but apparently it can.

One of the rooms we have been working in is the girls' room. The room switch has been in progress almost since March. So maybe that will give you an idea of how miserable it has been. Anyway, we needed some shelves for our decor. Mom found one little shelf with an ivy wreath, and then she found a spice rack.

A spice rack? It can store more than spices, it is the perfect little shelf for nick nacks and such. So, taking the spice rack, our shelf, a decorative wall fan, a mirror, and a can of sage green spray paint, Mom made us some incredible decorations!

I love spray paint, and I love creativity. Can the two mix? Oh yes.

Creativity and decor make for the best and most memorable rooms. Why don't you try it?

Celina, AWWWW

So I was in my room sitting at my now finished desk. Just minding my own business straighting my hair. Knock Knock "Celina mom wants you to go feed the dogs" So I got up went out to the porch and picked up our three gallon bucket that we use for dog food. When I got out to the barn Mom was out there counting something on our shelves. I was like "did Wildcat have kittens!"(Wildcat is our cat that we have had for like FOREVER! that no one really pays a to she has kittens a lot but they always die. The one time one of her kittens lived was the only cat that I have truly loved, but it died when it was about a year old :( Any way most of Wildcats kittens die because of our crazy dog. Our dog Monez always tries to take the kittens and take care of them. so So we will find them all torn up in her dog house. Or one of the tom cats will eat them.) so Mom was like "yep, four of them and they are pretty old they already have there eyes open!" So that is pretty exciting for me because they usually don't live past thier eyes being open! They are sooooooo cute! There is Missy Meow she is orange with greyish orange on her back, Twinky and Ding Dong They are grey, and Lightning he is black with a white stripe down his nose and a grey back (he meows loudly and A LOT!) oh and I really don't know what gender they are :)

Grace- Worthless Sayings

These are some worthless sayings that don't make sense or are just plain silly.

"You can't teach and old dog new tricks"

Come on! Dogs are smart.

"If a bear is chasing you and a friend, you don't have to be faster than the bear, just be faster than the friend."

It was definitely NOT a Christian who wrote that one. What about, "What greater gift than a man lay down his life for a brother"?

"Truth is in the eyes of the beholder."

True, people do make form their own opinions. But that doesn't mean they are right!

"I'm not crazy, I'm just adventurous."

Yeah right. Being dumb and almost getting yourself killed for no reason is REALLY adventurous. Actually, it's just immature.

And I think I have heard this one before.

"Give a girl a rose and you have her heart."

What do they take us for? Robots.

...Well...I would kind of be flustered if someone gave me a rose. Roses do do kink of strange things. But I still wouldn't give someone my heart because he gave me a rose!

Yep. Some people just really don't think through their sayings.

Grace- Mystery

Wow! What a fun night! Last night my family and I had some dear friends over to play a Nancy Drew game with us. "The Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake".

At my house we always hook our computer up to our great big TV, and then play them as a family. My Mom actually gets a kick out of them more than I do. We solve puzzles together, yell at each other, and love getting scared when the bad guy/girl shows up.

I have always loved mysteries. When my brother and I first learned to read, some of the first books we ever read were "The Boxcar Children". We read dozens of them, devouring each one and solving the mysteries on our own. Then we moved to Hardy Boys, which still is almost my favorite. The first one I ever read was, "The Secret Agent on Flight 101". It is still one of my all time favorites.

I discovered Nancy Drew a bit later, but was hooked line and sinker. I mean, a girl detective? Wowsers! I found Trixie Belden not too far down the library shelf, and since then have been an avid fan.

In fact, one time when my family went to the library, my mama said to my daddy,

"Mark, we should get Galen and Grace some nonfiction." I asked in my innocent ignorance,

"What's nonfiction?" Mama burst out laughing, and then explained. After that we added a few more substantial books to our inventory. But I still love mysteries.

You are always wondering what is going to happen, you are picking up clues before Nancy or Frank do. You are warning Joe to look out behind him before, oops, too late! Oh well, he'll be back up in the next chapter. You are telling Trixie not to loose her temper again, or listening to Gertrude Chandler Warner describe yet another delicious Alden children meal. I just love mysteries!

Some loving friends of mine introduced me to Nancy Drew games. "The Scarlet Hand Mystery" is the first one we ever played. After that it was, "The Final Scene". The excitement of solving puzzles, opening secret doors, and finding ways to defeat the villain is just unbelievable!

Since we have played more games all of my family has gotten better at these games. We have gotten quick, smart, and become a better team that we used to be. It is so fun.

Maybe you could try it sometime. You could audio record a mystery book, use one for a read aloud, play a game, or make up a mystery for your own family. If they love mystery as much as we do, then it will be a success!

Celina, Babysitting

Whew! A few moments of quite (well almost quite there is the singing that is coming from the bathroom:) I am sitting at the G's house, it is nap time or "book rest time" for the older boys.
Thursday I woke up early and dad took me to the H's house to baby-sit until about 2:30 pm. Then my mom came and picked me up and we rushed to the lake house, someone had made a last minute reservation and we had to rush out there to clean up the house for them. Me and mom rushed around trying to get it all done in time. We got most of it done but there was a few things left to do. We went to Springfield trying to get to my Orchestra performance on time. I had to change into my long fancy dress in the car (not fun!) After my performance we went to Steak and Shake for dinner, then we headed home. It was like 9:15 when we got home.
The next morning we left our house at like 7:45 and I went to the H's to baby-sit all day. At 5:15 Daddy came and picked up me and all of the H kids. From there we went to Springfield to see Faith graduate. Friday night i cam to the G's house and spent the night.
In the morning Mr. and Mrs. G left and I have been babysitting the kids since then. On Monday I am Babysitting the H kids again

I used the first letter of each family's name.
For those who don't know the H family has a 5 year old girl, a 3 year old boy, and a 2 year old girl. and the G's have a 7 year old boy, a 5 year old boy, a 4(and if you say he is just four he will correct you a LOT telling you that he is four and a half:) year old boy, and a 2 year old boy.

FUN!

Lydia, Busy weekend!

Hi Gals!
Wow, this weekend is super busy for me! Benjamin (my oldest brother) and Brooke (his wife) are coming today at 5:30pm. We have been busy cleaning the house for their arrival. Tomorrow, Thursday, we are going to SHEM. My sister has a graduation rehearsal and I play the violin there. We will be there awhile and will get to have dinner out. Then Friday my sister, Faith, graduates (sniff, sniff,) and I sing in a choir for it. Then on Saturday is Faith's Reception and I get to serve the punch and cake with my sister in-law, Brooke! *Sigh* I get a little tired just thinking about it all. Sunday, a few of you will get to meet Brooke at church. Then B&B will leave Monday morning. Well I have been enjoying the weather thoroughly. I love spring! My birthday is coming up (May 12th). I am excited to turn fourteen. Well hope everyone is enjoying lovely May.

Grace- Stronger By Mandisa

Stronger

Verse 1
Hey, heard you were up all night
Thinkin' bout how your world ain't right, and you wonder if things, will ever get better
And you're askin' why, is it always rainin' on you, when all you want is just a little good news
Instead of standin' here stuck out in the weather

Pre Chorus
Oh don't hang your head, it's gonna end, God's right there
Even if you just can't feel Him, I promise you that He still cares

Chorus
When the waves are takin' you under
Hold on just a little bit longer
He knows that this is gonna make you stronger
The pain ain't gonna last forever, and things can only get better
Believe me this is gonna make you stronger... ooh

Verse 2
Try and do the best you can
Hold on and let Him hold your hand
'Cmon fall into the arms of Jesus

Pre Chorus
Oh lift your head, it's gonna end, God's right there
Even if you just can't feel Him, I promise you that He still cares

Chorus
When the waves are takin' you under
Hold on just a little bit longer
He knows that this is gonna make you stronger
The pain ain't gonna last forever, and things can only get better
Believe me this is gonna make you stronger, ooh

Bridge
'Cause if He started this work in your life
He will be faithful to complete it if only you believe it
He knows how much it hurts
And I'm sure He's gonna help you get through this

Oh, oh, oh

Chorus
When the waves are takin' you under
Hold on just a little bit longer
He knows that this is gonna make you stronger
The pain ain't gonna last forever, and things can only get better
Believe me this is gonna make you stronger

So many people are hurting right now. Many that I know personally. It is wonderful to know that God helps to strengthen and comfort us, and that the pain won't last forever. Someday we will go to a place where there is no more pain, no more crying, and no more dying. But until then fall into the arms of Jesus, He is waiting to catch you.

Celina, Well I guess I will post again

I feel like this is becoming my blog, but whatever. So know that I am practicaly done with school, I have been wondering what to do a lot. I have found myself just getting on the computer and watching videos on YouTube. I have found some interesting stuff and I just wanted to share what I have come across:
Trick 1- To make your own lip gloss/lip stain, just mix a little petroleum jelly (Vaseline) with a little ground up eyeshadow, it works WONDERFUL! and you can get a lovely color that isn't lumpy and because a lot of eyeshadow is a little shimmery your lip gloss will be too!
Trick 2- When putting you mascara on take a business card or a piece of card stock and put it right on the upper edge of your eyelid, right above your eyelashes and pull up gently with the card, it will pull your eyelashes up so you can get mascara right up to your eye making your lashes look fuller. The card also protects your lid from getting mascara on it.
Well I guess now that I think of it that is not all that much stuff, but I also have learned that I need to GET OFF YOUTUBE!!!! That is the bad thing about getting done with school before all of your friends do, I have nothing to do. usually in the summer we have goodals of things to do, and usually I have a library card. I got to many fines on my library card to get any more books until I pay them off, so I am waiting for the summer reading program so I can get them all payed off through that. :) Oh you guys might help me out a little by posting on here!
